We’re sure you’ve seen the recent updated guidance from JCVI on vaccinations for 12-17 year olds
The following cohorts should now be offered a booster dose of Pfizer-BioNTech no sooner than 3 months after completion of their primary course:
- children and young people aged 16-17 years
- children and young people aged 12-15 who are in a clinical risk group or who are a household contact of someone who is immunosuppressed
- children and young people aged 12-15 who are severely immunosuppressed and who have had a third primary dose
We have updated our COVID vaccine searches to version 8 to include searches to cover these cohorts. As with previous guidance, we would suggest clinical review of the immunosuppressed patients as identifying these from coding alone is fraught with potential issues.
For subscribers with an EMIS Enterprise Search and Report unit, these searches are already in these units. We will install these searches with our next quarterly update for other subscribers, but are available for download immediately from the PCIT hub
