HP012 Same day diabetes foot access

We have decided to make the handy protocol ‘HP012 Same day diabetes foot access’ an optional handy protocol. This is based on feedback from customers. This will mean we will be removing the triggers for this on the next update to your sites. If you want to continue to have this alert trigger, please request this via the PCIT hub or raise a support ticket here.

Greener Inhaler Update

Primary Care IT has collaborated with Greener Practice to produce supporting searches for their Asthma toolkit. See further details here

If you have requested these tools before, we have updated them slightly. The changes are highlighted in the support article.

For EMIS users, these searches can be downloaded from the PCIT HUB. For EMIS users, these searches can be downloaded from the PCIT Hub. The Asthma Toolkit resources can be found at the bottom of this page in our ‘EMIS Web Free resources’ tab. Free registration for our website is required to access this, to enable us to contact you regarding updates on these resources in the future.

HbA1c Result Decision Support Tool

Do you want your teams to be able to interpret HbA1c results with ease whilst working through pathology results? Have you thought about delegating certain blood results to other team members?

Have a look at our HbA1c interpretation decision support tool. This will help your teams decide if an HbA1c can be used for diagnosis and then give them information about the result to show if the patient has the correct diagnoses recorded, or how their control is looking.

This is currently available via the OneLauncher Prescriber and you can now customise the tool to add in local referral forms for new diabetics or patients with NDH. You can submit the forms via the PCIT HUB within the Results➝HbA1c section, or submit a support ticket.

OneTemplate Coding Tool

Primary Care IT are pleased to announce the release of our new OneTemplate Coding tool.

This template contains everything that a clinical coding team would need to be effective in their work. It aids teams to record information in a structured and consistent way. Where new diagnoses have required contractual actions, these are highlighted. Where common procedures have been performed in secondary care or where follow up in primary care is needed, users can record this in a standardised way using the template. Where a patient has QOF or IIF actions needed, these are highlighted to the coders, so that if any relevant data is contained within the communication this can be added to the record.

We will be rolling this out to all subscribers over the coming weeks. If you are waiting for installation and want us to prioritise your site submit a ticket to request this here.

For further information, please read the support guide

HP160 HRT Formulary

Primary Care IT are excited to announce, HP160 HRT Formulary, the latest in our range of clinical decision support tools.

Requested by a GP in Warwickshire, this protocol will guide the user through prescription of the appropriate HRT for the patient being reviewed. We will be rolling this out to all subscribers over the coming weeks and it will be available in your OneLauncher Prescriber in the “Prescribing tools” section, called the “HRT Formulary”. If you are waiting for installation and want us to prioritise your site please submit a ticket to request this.

For further information, please see support article

OneTravel

Primary Care IT is pleased to announce that it is releasing the OneTravel template. This template has been developed to help clinicians in Primary Care record travel vaccinations with ease. This has pre-formatted text to be able to quickly record standard advice for travel.  This template has been completely reviewed and updated following COVID. We have added this to your OneLaunchers: both Prescriber and Non-Prescriber.

For further details, please read our support guide.

FP34D checker

Primary Care IT are pleased to announce the release of our FP34D and Personally Administered Item protocol.

This will check that all FP34D and PA items have appropriate prescriptions generated to protect practice income and conversely that when prescriptions are generated that this activity is coded.  An average practice will lose over £10k in a year by not recording the prescriptions for FP34D and PA items, so this protocol will prevent this from happening.

We will be rolling this out to all subscribers over the coming weeks. If you are waiting for installation and want us to prioritise your site please submit a ticket to request this.

Checking FIT tests are matched to the correct SNOMED code

If you’re not yet hitting the CAN-01 indicator for IIF (FIT test needed with 2 week wait referral) Primary Care IT has written a new support guide which will help you to achieve this. It covers:

  • Why does this matter?
  • How can I check which code is being allocated to incoming FIT results?
  • What codes count for CAN-01?
  • What can I do about previous uncoded reports?

You can find the full support guide here.

We’ve written searches to help you monitor performance on this activity and identify patients who are not hitting this target. You can make sure you have the latest version (v3.8.2) of the IIF searches by downloading them from your EMIS Search and Report or downloading them from the website here.

OneProcedure Template

Primary Care IT is pleased to announce that it is releasing the OneProcedure template. This template can be used to record clinical procedures within Primary Care with great ease. We will be adding this to your OneLaunchers: Prescriber, Non-Prescriber and Additional Roles.

If you are waiting for installation and want us to prioritise your site please submit a ticket to request this.

IIF v3.8 searches

Primary Care IT are pleased to announce the release of IIF v3.8 searches for EMIS. Some customers will have briefly seen v3.7 which was deployed to Enterprise sites at the end of last week.

In v3.7 we have: introduced a new report for EHCH-04; made improvements to work to do searches and reports to improve useability. There are no changes from v3.6.1 to affect reporting searches of PCIT’s IIF Analytics output.

In v3.8 we have: applied the updates released by NHS Digital on 05/12/2022. These affect CAN-01, SMR-01B, SMR-03, CVD-04, CVD-05, RESP-01. There are also some minor code updates (released by NHS Digital) within various indicators.

We will be rolling this out to subscribers over the coming weeks, while the searches are available for immediate download from the PCIT Hub. Customers with access to Primary Care IT searches on an Enterprise system will be able to copy the updated folder to their own Population Reporting folders.

If you are waiting for installation and want us to prioritise your site please submit a support ticket to request this. A support article for the searches can be found here, and an article on which PCIT searches to use to target patients is here.
