Revolutionising Patient Care and Financial Health: A Case Study from Kingston
Introduction
At Primary Care IT, our commitment is not just to provide services, but to transform practices. In this case study, we explore the profound impact our bespoke localisation tools have had on a practice in South West London’s Kingston area, demonstrating significantly enhanced patient care as well as a large financial benefit.
Background/Challenge
The practice faced challenges with gaps in Local Enhanced Service (LES) reporting. The practice didn’t have the capacity to spend the time required to deal with the complexity of the task. This left high-risk patients unidentified and substantial revenues unclaimed.
Solution
Primary Care IT undertook a meticulous initial scoping by reviewing LES contracts and existing reporting methodologies. Collaborative discussions with our customers ensured alignment with their specific needs, leading to the development of:
- protocols to support correct data entry
- alerts to provide information
- searches to aid operational management and reporting
- detailed support articles for each of the resources
- detailed support articles for each of the LES schemes
These resources are crucial for both patient care standards and financial health.
Outcome
The PCIT resources provided allowed the practice to:
- identify high risk diabetic patients who they were then able to offer appropriate care to.
- claim £4000 of income due to under reporting
- identify patients who were incorrectly or not coded for care they had received leading to increased income of over £8000.
Ongoing Support
Our relationship doesn’t end with implementation. Monthly contract meetings ensure continuous updates, support, and adaptation to new challenges, providing a constant stream of value and assurance to our clients.
Conclusion
In this study, Primary Care IT’s dedication to tailored, proactive service solutions not only elevated the standard of patient care but also identified significant additional income. Our approach is clear: we don’t just offer tools; we deliver transformations by working collaboratively and supporting practices. In this instance the use of the PCIT toolset delivered a 4:1 return on investment.
