Seasonal Influenza searches 2024-25
We have released our Seasonal Influenza Searches 2024/25!
This collection of searches has been designed to support Practices running a call/recall programme for their seasonal influenza campaign. Built in line with the Enhanced Service criteria, searches are grouped by eligibility cohorts to assist in prioritising groups of patients to invite, and then to monitor uptake across each of the cohorts. A data quality folder offers searches to highlight missed or incorrect coding to ensure that all activity will be funded following the monthly CQRS extracts.
If you are a toolset subscriber, either EMIS or SystmOne, these searches are now available in your systems.
If you are NOT a subscriber, you can get these searches for FREE! Head to our website and click on the system suitable to you.

Shingles Vaccination Coding
We have noted an issue raised by one of our subscribers this week which we felt important to pass on to other users.
They have noted that a patient was coded with the correct code for 2nd dose of Shingrix (Administration of second dose of Varicella-zoster vaccine for shingles), but also an old code for Zostavax – Shingles vaccination (also found as Herpes zoster vaccination, SNOMED concept 859641000000109). It seems that in this practice a team member had been routinely ticking both vaccination types when administering a shingles vaccine (this wasn’t using a PCIT template).
Having investigated and run our CQRS: Shingles Missed activity searches the patient flagged within SHROU10X. Because of the way the business rules are written, any such patient will not be paid for the second dose administered unless the Shingles vaccination code is deleted from the record before the end of the month the second vaccine is given.
On investigating this further for the practice there was over £1500 in missed income because of this coding issue.
There are two key messages:
1) Make sure your team are coding with a singular shingles vaccine code which represents that actual vaccine given (OneTemplate NonPrescriber will ensure this happens)
2) Make sure you’re regularly running our CQRS missed activity searches and looking at why patients have not been included as being eligible
If you’re unsure why a patient hasn’t been included and want our team to investigate and feed back to you please submit a support ticket.
