#64 PCIT Gems: Shingles alert update l Upcoming webinar

Weekly Hints and Tips

Shingles alert update (EMIS)

You may be aware that EMIS recently applied a fix to their shingles protocol advising of eligibility for patients who had not yet received a vaccine. We know many of our subscribers had previously turned off the EMIS alert to use Primary Care IT’s HP062 Shingles alert. It appears EMIS activated their update across the entire estate, which means anybody with HP062 will see a second alert.

We are pleased to confirm that the PCIT alert was not affected by the EMIS issue, and we recommend subscribers continue to use HP062 as it is more effective at signposting immunocompromised patients. For toolset subscribers, if you would like this alert installed in your system, please submit a support ticket to request this.

We will work through all sites over the coming weeks to deactivate the EMIS alert where HP062 is also active. Information is available in this support article showing how to deactivate the alert yourself.

Subscribers also have access to the sister protocol, HP048 Eligible for shingles vaccination, which serves as a manual F12 checker for receptionists.
